I don’t think people really understand how intricate shopping is from a business perspective. Studies are commissioned to figure out what colors people respond to for certain feelings, which can determine what colors are used in branding an establishment. And that’s just for the signage of a place.
With that in mind, these are some subtle manipulations that stores are pulling on you (and honestly, it was alarming putting this post together how many of these I recognized from the grocery store that’s literally a few minutes from my apartment).
