Alright, alright, alright, so here’s where I stand after sifting through the comments/suggestions regarding a TC of the Month Winner Vote versus a lucky pool winner plucked from all the 30+ comments. BUT FIRST, let me clarify something I heard for the anti-vote camp. People seemed to assume that only those on iChive could vote or submit photos. Not true. People can submit their suggestions in the comments section of each week’s TC of the Week post (a.k.a. what you’re looking at right now) that are either their favorites from that gallery OR they may submit other comments that they think were worthy that I either didn’t notice or passed for whatever reason.

Could people ALSO submit their favorite comments and suggestions via iChive through the hastag #topcomments? Absolutely. I would pull from BOTH the comment section as well as from iChive’s channel. So nobody would be left out here.

Lastly, the Vote would be its own post, and it would have roughly 25 of the best comments chosen by you guys, and myself, and those 25 would have the username blurred out (so less bias), and we would vote in a simple poll embedded within the gallery.

Is there more complicated, well, for me, YES. But for you, not really.

My plan is to give this Vote method one shot for the month of January. What will it hurt to try it one time? If it ends up being a total disaster, I’ll scrap it and go back to the monthly lucky pool winner from people who hit the 30+ upvote threshold. But I want to give this voting contest one try. It might be nice for everyone to have a say. Maybe not. But it’s worth ONE shot, I figure.

So expect the first Vote within the next two weeks, and let’s have some fun regardless of the outcome!
