I stand before you an Irish-scotsman. I also stand before you corrected. After fighting off haters, and arguing in comment sections for years and years… I’m man enough to say that I’m in the fucking wrong here. It’s time to admit that I’ve been saying ‘St. Patty’s’ when ‘St. Paddy’s’ is both grammatically and historically correct.
You see I’m an American. As Americans we’re raised to believe that we’re the bee’s knees, number one! So I went through life thinking, “Oh, Patty has got to be short for Patrick. Anyone who says Paddy is a god damn poser.”
And for that I apologize.
