Tiny, Harmless Things That Somehow Piss People Off

I had an old teacher in high school who overemphasized pronouncing the “N” in Wednesday and the “R” in February.

It was infuriating.

She once even referenced a “WedNNNesday” in “FebRRRRuary” in the same sentence, and I thought she sounded like an alien… Some non-human life form, trying to pass itself off as an English-speaker.

I don’t know why it always bothered me, but it did. And it still does.
