It’s fair to say we are currently experiencing a very solid era for horror films. Sure, a lot of that has to do with fresh writing, and directors who are willing to take risks.
But a large part of what makes good horror great, is the costume department. There are full teams of SFX and make-up artists whose job is literally to scare the piss out of their audience.
In honor of October finally arriving, I’ve compiled some of the scariest masks from throughout cinematic history. Good luck falling asleep tonight.
