When it’s done well, it can completely immerses you into the story. The experience becomes more believable, it looks realistic, and your sensory perception feels more validated.

But when visual effects are done poorly, it’s the complete opposite experience. You feel more removed from the movie, uninterested, and you’re stuck wondering… Howcome every movie looks like The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl?
