Naturally, actors aren’t snorting real cocaine take after take, they’re doing it in their trailers. Productions use safe stand-ins like baking soda, powdered laxatives, sugar, or dairy-based powders. More recently, powdered inositol has become a common choice. Prop masters are responsible for making sure whatever substitute is used is safe to ingest or snort.
