The BBC series “Peaky Blinders” features a brutal 1919 gang in post-war Birmingham, led by Thomas Shelby. If you haven’t seen the series, or simply aren’t caught up, no worries. There won’t be any spoilers here. All you need to know is that Tommy is a badass who not only owns the streets, but is trying to raise his family through the ranks of society…through illegal activity and killing his enemies, but still. The man is inspiring.
