Sick days are weird. Not the concept, which makes complete sense, but the total lack of understanding that can come from an employer about what “calling in sick” actually means. Like, yes, some people abuse sick days, but usually when someone calls in, they called in for a reason.
And holy shit this story from the U.K. is a prime example of why sometimes, you should definitely believe your employees.
