The South Side of Pittsburgh is a special place. And for those who have never been, yinz are about to learn today. Think Broadway in Nashville, Dirty 6th in Austin, or the Strip in Vegas. That’s East Carson Street. The only difference is it’s smack dab in the 4-1-2.
Having been born, raised, and educated in the area, I spent many a debaucherous evening ‘dahn’ at the South Side. A place where drinks flow like the Monongahela, and parties of inebriated college kids stumble way too far out into traffic like a Chris Boswell missed field goal.
By night’s end flocks of drunkards are lining up to ease those alcohol-induced cravings. Spots such as Mike & Tony’s Gyros, Urban Tap – and yes- even Burger King are packed to the brim.
