Around 2 years ago, John Ivanowski was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy, a chronic kidney disease with potentially devastating consequences. Johns Hopkins Medicine warned that IgA nephropathy can eventually lead to end-stage renal disease. When that happens, the kidneys are no longer able to function and there’s not much the patient can do.
