I have so many questions. Did the NYPD run out of plastic bags? Did they really need to punch holes in legal tender to remember it was evidence? And most importantly, how did this get back into circulation? Imagine trying to buy a coffee with this. You hand it to the cashier, they read the police stamp, and suddenly you have to explain that you aren’t currently fleeing a crime scene, you just got really weird change at the laundromat.
But if you think a dollar bill with a criminal record is interesting, get ready. That perforated piece of petty cash is actually one of the more normal things we’re looking at today.
