Subreddit /r/WallStreetBets pranked Wall Street, made millions while costing billions
This is some SERIOUS movie shit.
I should start this post by saying that I know absolutely nothing about the stock market, but this story is insane enough that I’ve been glued to my screen for the last day-and-a-half wondering why I didn’t join in on the fun. To prep you, you should know that the subreddit known as /r/WallStreetBets is a place that is filled to the brim with people who seem to balance the fine line of genius and insanity — depending on the day.
The people who frequent and partake in /r/WallStreetBets are either gambling with their life-savings at any moment, or so loaded with money that they can troll the market by buying chunks of random stocks and convincing other people to join in. Most of the time, it doesn’t work. THIS TIME, HOWEVER, IT DID.
