We used to hang out and smoke at an abandoned train station in my hometown—perfectly quiet, huge, and remote.
One night around 1am, my friend and I were sitting on the platform, smoking and talking, when a white owl landed right in front of us. On the East Coast, owls are super rare, so we lost our minds. It felt like a spiritual moment—like a sign. My friend took a photo with his disposable camera. We high-fived, hugged, lit another joint, and spent the next few weeks telling everyone about our magical owl encounter.
When the film got developed… it was a seagull.
